History
1967
Elastómeros Riojanos S.A.U., Elastorsa, began its business activities in 1967 as a manufacturer of rubber compounds for third parties. In the early years, it started manufacturing outsoles for footwear, becoming the leader in the Spanish market.
1985
In the 1980s, the company set up a new division dedicated to the extrusion manufacture of rubber gaskets for the automotive sector. Rubber compounds, footwear outsoles and automotive gaskets were simultaneously manufactured in separate divisions. At this time, the major automotive industries became major clients for Elastorsa.
1998
Cauchos Bracamonte (Salamanca) was founded in 1998 in response to a growing demand in domestic and foreign markets.
2002
In 2002, in view of growing demand in the French market, the FORMIX company was acquired in order to reinforce the group’s penetration of this market. This was the first plant outside Spain, making Elastorsa a multinational group.
2009
In 2009, a new plant was built in Martin, Slovakia to supply our automotive clients in Eastern Europe.
2013
In 2013 Grupo Elastorsa acquired Industrias del Caucho (IDC), a specialist in raw and vulcanised rubber sheets, thereby expanding its product portfolio.
2016
Grupo Elastorsa welcomes an Investment Fund into its shareholder structure to support and consolidate the company's international expansion process.
